Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout (2026): Which Is Better for Small Amazon Sellers?
Disclosure: this Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout comparison contains an affiliate link for Helium 10. If you sign up through it, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. I don’t currently have an affiliate link for Jungle Scout, so I earn nothing if you choose it.
How I tested: I’ve used Helium 10’s free tools on my own Amazon UK listings. You can read the full results in my Helium 10 free plan review. I haven’t paid for Jungle Scout. It has no free plan or free trial, so everything I say about it comes from its official pricing and feature pages, checked in October 2026. I’ll update this article if I test it hands-on.
If you sell on Amazon, Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout is probably the first tool decision you’ll face. Both promise keyword research, product research and rank tracking. But for a small seller like me, with a handful of kitchen products and a tight budget, the real question is simpler: which one gives you the most for the least money?
Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout: the quick answer
| Helium 10 | Jungle Scout | |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | Yes (limited) | No |
| Free trial | No | No |
| Cheapest paid plan (monthly) | Platinum, $129/month | Starter, $49/month |
| Cheapest paid plan (annual) | $99/month | $29/month |
| Money-back guarantee | Not shown on the pricing page | 7 days on standard plans |
| Amazon UK | Yes | Yes |
| Rank tracking on the cheapest paid plan | Yes (Keyword Tracker) | No (needs Growth Accelerator at $79/month) |
| Best for | Trying before you pay; serious all-in-one use | A cheaper entry plan for basic research |
My short verdict: if you’re a beginner, start with the Helium 10 free plan, because it costs nothing. If you’re ready to pay but your budget is tight, Jungle Scout’s Starter plan is much cheaper than Helium 10’s cheapest paid plan, but it leaves out rank tracking.
Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout: pricing compared
Price is where these two tools differ most, so let’s start there. All prices are in US dollars, taken from the official Helium 10 pricing page and Jungle Scout pricing page in October 2026.
Helium 10 pricing
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 |
| Platinum | $129/month | $99/month |
| Diamond | $359/month | $279/month |
| Enterprise | From $1,499/month | Billed annually |
Jungle Scout pricing
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $49/month | $29/month ($348/year) |
| Growth Accelerator | $79/month | $49/month ($588/year) |
| Brand Owner | $149/month | $129/month ($1,548/year) |
| Cobalt (large brands) | Custom pricing | |
What this means in practice:
- To spend nothing, only Helium 10 lets you do that.
- To pay as little as possible for a paid tool, Jungle Scout Starter at $29 a month (billed annually) is less than a third of Helium 10 Platinum’s $99.
- For rank tracking, Jungle Scout’s cheapest option is Growth Accelerator ($49 a month annually, $79 monthly), which is still cheaper than Helium 10 Platinum.
Here’s a reality check from my own shop. My knife sharpener sells for £6.90 and leaves about £2.57 profit before ads. Jungle Scout Starter at $49 a month (about £37) would need around 15 extra sales a month to pay for itself. Helium 10 Platinum at $129 a month (about £97) would need around 38. For a small shop, that difference matters.

Free plan vs free trial
This is the biggest practical difference for beginners.
Helium 10 has a free plan. I used it to run a reverse ASIN check on my own glass cup brush, and it showed the listing ranked between 232 and 302 for its main keywords, which is page 5 or later. That one free check led me to rewrite my titles, bullet points and search terms, and to fix a listing that was sitting in the wrong category. The free plan has real limits: most search volumes are blurred, only the top 10 results show, and Cerebro inside the app is demo-only. But it’s useful, and it’s free.

Jungle Scout has no free plan and no free trial. Its pricing page says so directly. What it does offer is a 7-day money-back guarantee on standard plans, so you can pay, test it for a week and ask for a full refund if it isn’t right for you. That’s a fair safety net, but you still need to pay upfront.
Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout: features compared
Both tools cover the same core jobs. Here’s how they line up, based on each company’s published features.
| Job | Helium 10 | Jungle Scout |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword ideas from a seed word | Magnet | Keyword Scout (50 searches/month on Starter) |
| Competitor keywords (reverse ASIN) | Cerebro | Keyword Scout |
| Daily rank tracking | Keyword Tracker | Rank Tracker (Growth Accelerator and above) |
| Product research | Black Box | Product Database and Opportunity Finder |
| Sales estimates in the browser | Xray (Chrome extension) | Chrome extension plus Sales Estimator |
| Listing checks | Listing Builder | Listing Analyzer (Growth Accelerator and above) |
| Supplier research | Not a main focus | Supplier Database (Growth Accelerator and above) |
| Ads (PPC) tools | Adtomic | Not on the Starter plan |
What Jungle Scout’s Starter plan includes and leaves out
Because Starter is the plan most small sellers will look at, here are its limits in full, as listed on Jungle Scout’s pricing page:
- Included: 50 Keyword Scout searches a month, 100 Product Database searches, 100 Opportunity Finder searches, 500 Sales Estimator uses, tracking for 50 products with 30 days of history, the browser extension, and Jungle Scout Academy training.
- Not included: Rank Tracker, Listing Analyzer, Supplier Database, data exports, and priority support. Only one user is allowed.
For basic keyword and product research, Starter looks reasonable value. If you want to watch your rankings move day by day after changing a listing, which is exactly what I want to do next, you’d need Growth Accelerator.
Amazon UK support
As a UK seller, this matters to me. Both tools support Amazon UK. I ran all my Helium 10 tests on amazon.co.uk. Jungle Scout lists the UK as fully supported, but notes that some features are limited to the US, so check that a specific tool works for the UK before you rely on it.
Who each tool is best for
Choose Helium 10 if:
- You want to start for free and only pay once you’re sure.
- You want everything in one place later on, including ads tools and listing tools.
- Your shop makes enough profit to cover $99 to $129 a month when you upgrade.
Choose Jungle Scout if:
- You’re happy to pay but want the cheapest paid entry point.
- You mainly need product and keyword research, not daily rank tracking.
- You like the safety of a 7-day money-back guarantee.
What I’d do as a small seller
I’d start with the Helium 10 free plan, fix my listings with the data it gives, and get a few weeks of sales from those changes. Only when my monthly profit could comfortably cover a subscription would I pay for a tool. At that point, if budget is the main concern, Jungle Scout’s Growth Accelerator is the cheapest way I can see to get rank tracking. If I wanted ads and listing tools in one place, Helium 10 Platinum would be the stronger all-rounder.
One thing to watch with Jungle Scout
When I visited Jungle Scout’s website in October 2026, the homepage was focused on large brands and enterprise customers (“Get a Demo”), and its old self-sign-up affiliate programme for bloggers no longer seemed to be open. The Catalyst plans for smaller sellers are still listed, but it’s worth keeping an eye on whether Jungle Scout keeps investing in tools for small sellers, or moves further towards big brands.

Final verdict
In the Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout debate, there’s no single winner. It depends on where you are:
- Just starting, or on a £0 budget: Helium 10 free plan.
- Ready to pay, on a tight budget: Jungle Scout Starter, or Growth Accelerator if you need rank tracking.
- Growing shop wanting one tool for everything: Helium 10 Platinum.
Whichever you choose, the tool only helps if you act on the data. In my case, one free check showing my listing on page 5 was enough to make me rewrite every listing in my shop.
